Coach Stores in Focus: Landmark Flagships, Boutiques and What Awaits You
Based on Tapestry’s annual report, Coach had 973 directly operated stores when its 2026 fiscal year ended on 27 June 2026. Of those stores, 336 sit in North America and 637 are overseas. Another figure that circulates, about 1,299 stores, refers to all of Tapestry’s brands combined, not to Coach alone. Looking forward, Tapestry has reportedly indicated that around 50 net new Coach stores are planned for fiscal 2027, with roughly three quarters of them outside North America. Across the network you will find flagship Coach House locations, ordinary full-price boutiques, department store concessions and Coach Outlet stores. Searching for a coach store can therefore bring up very different formats, from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. In what follows, the best-documented locations are covered city by city, with a flag wherever a store’s current status still awaits confirmation.
| Address | Format | Current status for September 2026 | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| New York, 685 Fifth Avenue | Flagship Coach House | Opened 2016; relocation to 645 Fifth Avenue planned for 2027 | Use the locator ahead of a visit |
| London, 200–206 Regent Street | Flagship Coach House | Launched in 2016 | Craftsmanship Bar reported |
| Tokyo, Ginza | Flagship | Reportedly reopened in December 2025 | First Japanese flagship goes back to 2002 |
| Shanghai, Huai Hai Middle Road | Flagship opened 2010 | Current status not verified | Older coverage may be out of date |

New York: Coach House on Fifth Avenue
Coach was founded in New York in 1941, and its coach loafers home city holds its most recognised flagship. The Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue opened its doors in the fall of 2016 to mark the brand’s 75th anniversary. It was reported at about 20,000 square feet across three floors, created with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield. Coach has reportedly signed a lease for about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a new Coach House, so the present address is not a permanent base. Coach is targeting 2027 for the proposed move, while David Yurman is said to have leased the 685 Fifth Avenue space and is set to open there in early 2029. Whether the current store is still trading on a given day has not been confirmed, so check Coach’s store locator before travelling specially. Also listed on the locator is a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards, close to Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.
London: The Coach House on Regent Street
Unveiled in 2016 as a global concept store, London’s Coach House is found at 200–206 Regent Street. Studio Sofield also worked on the London store, which gives it a family resemblance to the New York flagship. Coverage at the time described a Craftsmanship Bar for monograms and personalisation. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly take around 12 weeks, or about 16 weeks in exotic skins; a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag was reported too. Be wary of the wrong opening year: one retail-district listing carries a much later page date, and that has misled some writers. On its August 2026 earnings call, Tapestry said that the UK, together with some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has material penetration, as a published transcript records. Ahead of a visit, confirm which services are currently offered if you are planning a personalisation appointment.
Tokyo and Ginza
Within Japan, Coach’s flagship stands in Tokyo’s Ginza district. The store, updated in 2015, dates back to the first Japanese flagship, which opened there in 2002. Reports on the relaunch state that the studio CURIOSITY redesigned the store, which reopened on 19 December 2025. When it comes to services, Japan is also significant: select Japanese stores reportedly join the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange. Outlet items and canvas styles are reportedly ruled out, but the scheme takes gently worn all-leather retail bags. Which Japanese stores participate was not confirmed, so contact the store before bringing in a bag. As with every flagship in this guide, opening hours and services are best checked shortly before a visit.
Greater China: Hong Kong, Chongqing and an Outdated Shanghai Record
Coach’s large stores in Greater China are documented less fully than the flagships in New York or London. A record that is now dated states that a flagship of about 7,000 square feet opened on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010. Its current status was not verifiable, so do not assume the Shanghai store is open today. It has also been reported that Coach runs a global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing. Opening dates for those two stores also went unverified. The annual report shows 637 international stores within Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, but it provides no breakdown by city. Dated press coverage is less reliable than Coach’s local store locator, so anyone travelling should rely on the locator when planning a visit.
British Boutiques and Concessions
Beyond Regent Street, Coach’s UK store locator lists full-price stores at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf are further London options. The Bullring in Birmingham holds the documented full-price store outside London. Coach is also present in concessions at Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted. Avoid assuming a local branch exists in cities such as Manchester or Edinburgh without checking, as stores there could not be confirmed. The list above covers the documented full-price options at the time of writing for anyone browsing coach uk locations. To confirm hours and services, the safest place is each listed store’s own page on Coach’s UK website.
Shopping at Coach Outlet Stores
Rather than being independent discounters, Coach Outlet stores form part of Coach’s own network, and Coach identifies them as outlets in its store locator. They usually are found in outlet centres, and Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common in the United States. Confirmed and listed Coach Outlet stores in Great Britain can be found at Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet. Check before travelling to York Designer Outlet, because a store there is reported but unconfirmed. Outlet stock is partly produced for the outlet channel, and the only share figure found, around 85%, comes from 2014, so today’s mix is not known. Assortments also take in earlier-season styles and, under the reported “One Coach” strategy, some full-price collection product. Since promotions change and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified, check current offers before planning a coach outlet trip.
What You Will Find Inside a Coach Store
Inside a full-price coach store, the focus is the current handbag range, with small leather goods, clothing and shoes displayed alongside. The Tabby first appeared in 2019, the Brooklyn debuted in August 2024 and the Empire Carryall was released in February 2025, and all three count among the recognisable bag families in 2026. Treat these as market observations rather than an official price list: observed US prices put a Tabby 26 at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450. The (Re)Loved trade-in runs in North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores, so it is available in selected stores. One membership works across both formats, because Coach Insider, the free loyalty programme, is said to cover both Coach and Coach Outlet. A receipt from a Coach store provides useful proof of where a coach bag came from, not least because Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise. Stuart Vevers, whose appointment was announced in June 2013, remains Creative Director in 2026 and oversees the creative direction.
How to Plan a Visit
Wasted journeys can be avoided with a little preparation, particularly while the New York flagship gets ready to relocate. Start with Coach’s store locator for the country you are visiting, since it separates full-price stores from Coach Outlet locations. For anyone wanting a trade-in, check that the store in question participates and that your bag is all leather rather than canvas. For personalisation or made-to-order services, enquire in advance whether the service is currently offered. Visitors to Britain should note that tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain came to an end on 1 January 2021, so there is no VAT refund to count on. Keep every receipt, because it documents where a bag was bought if questions come up later. Look up current promotions before a long journey to an outlet centre, because offers change frequently.
- On the day you set out, check the store locator.
- Make sure store participation and bag eligibility for a trade-in.
- Book personalisation services in advance.
- Each purchase deserves a receipt you hold on to.
